The gender dimension in water - a matter of equality
Gender inequality is one of the greatest obstacles to sustainable social, societal and economic development, economic growth, and hampering poverty reduction. The SDC is helping to ensure that women and men have the same rights and opportunities to develop their potential and can use their resources in a meaningful way. This also applies to water where women are highly disadvantaged and often carrying the bulk part of the burden to ensure water for households.
