Learning Journey on Groundwater
The RésEAU, the water network of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) launched its first Learning Journey fully dedicated to groundwater. This is an opportunity for professionals in international cooperation to explore the state of the art of groundwater projects and discuss upcoming trends on how to sustainably manage this valuable resource across the globe.

About this Learning Journey
The relevance of groundwater for a water secure future is on the rise, including in many partner regions of Swiss International Cooperation. While groundwater has been addressed in various SDC projects for a long time, several new groundwater initiatives at country or regional level have recently started or are in preparation. In response to the network’s rising interest in the topic, RésEAU launches a tailored series of open access learning events called a «Learning Journey». This Learning Journey shall connect RésEAU members interested in groundwater and provide a space for learning from past and current experiences. It will focus on groundwater quality, data and monitoring, governance, transboundary management and other related topics of interest to Swiss International Cooperation and its partners. This Learning Journey on Groundwater is intended to help establishing a Community of Practice for continued exchange on groundwater within the RésEAU. It is not only open to staff and partners of Swiss International Cooperation but also to any other interested parties.

Launch Event 21.11.2024, online
During this event, RésEAU inaugurated its Learning Journey on Groundwater for 2025. The scene has been set with the Learning Journey's roadmap, a keynote on Global Groundwater Challenges and Solutions by Dr. Karen Villholth and finally by presenting and discussing a world map of SDC's past and ongoing projects on groundwater.
