NCSC Director Florian Schütz visits Japan for high-level cybersecurity talks

Bern, 01.12.2025 — Florian Schütz, director of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), is travelling to Japan to strengthen international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. The trip underscores the strategic importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the face of increasing geopolitical tensions and hybrid threats.

Director of the NCSC Florian Schütz will travel to Japan from 1 to 3 December 2025 to take part in roundtable discussions as part of the Munich Cyber Security Conference (MCSC) Tokyo Sessions, among other engagements. Various issues will be discussed, such as whether the boundaries between government and industry need to be redefined in public-private partnerships in the field of cybersecurity. The agenda also includes an exchange focusing on the role of public-private partnerships in protecting critical infrastructure and the impact of geopolitical dynamics on cyber risks.

The roundtables will be conducted by leading representatives from government, security agencies, industry and academia from Asia, Europe and North America under the Chatham House Rule. The aim is to develop joint strategies to strengthen cyber resilience and technological sovereignty.

During his visit, Mr Schütz will also meet with representatives of the Japanese administration, including the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).
