News to read and to listen to
- The Trend Sheet #10 of the Trend Observatory on Water talks about Green laws and policies for a more sustainable water future and the shift towards climate resilience, biodiversity protection and inclusive economy.
- The Trend Observatory on Water also released a new podcast episode on Managed Aquifer Recharge: Securing Water for a Resilient Future featuring Dr. Karen Villholth, Senior expert on groundwater.
- El Agua nos Une produced an educational animated video about the value of water and food. The video is available in Spanish with English and with Portuguese subtitles, and was inspired by a previous video on water and energy.
- The Global WASH Cluster, together with the WASH RoadMap and partners, including SDC, launched the 2025 Call to Action for Survival and Resilient WASH, to stand in solidarity with the 173 million people in urgent need of humanitarian WASH assistance. Organisations can sign the Call to Action here.
- The UN Water Collaborative Implementation Plan outlines how the United Nations system will jointly implement the first-ever UN System-wide Strategy for Water and Sanitation, with its first phase lasting from 2025 to 2028.
E-workshops and webinars to attend
- 27 August 2025, 9:30-11, CEST - Understanding resilience: from concept to practice. This first session of the Learning Lab: Resilience Thinking - launches a new online learning journey by the SDC's Cluster Green networks Climate DRR and Environment, Agriculture & Food Systems and RésEAU, aiming at equipping practitioners with the knowledge and tools to apply resilience thinking meaningfully in their work.
- 3 September 2025, 8:15-9:00 CEST- Thoughts for Food 23 organized by SDC's Agriculture and Food Systems Network is a short, informal session to share some thoughts for food with network members and anyone else interested. The precise topic is to be announced closer to date.
- Self-paced - The course WASH and Nutrition Nexus: The basics is offered by the WASH Systems Academy. It teaches the interlinkages between WASH and nutrition and provides tools and methodologies for designing and implementing integrated WASH and nutrition interventions. The WASH Systems Academy further offers short-courses on Gender equity and social inclusion and Building WASH resilience, conflict sensitivity and peace.
