News to read
- The high-level preparatory meeting for the 3rd UN Water Conference took place in Dakar, Senegal from 26-27 January 2026, where the UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS) report was launched.
- The United Nations Water Conference Academic Hub is a new platform connecting academic, scientific, and policy communities to the official preparatory process towards the 3rd UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi in December 2026.
- The ongoing Learning Journey “The Green Nexus - Building Synergies for Greater Impact” hosted by SDC’s Networks Agriculture & Food Systems, Climate, DRR & Environment and RésEAU discusses on-the-ground examples of how a “Green Nexus” can be applied in development cooperation.
- A short article by Eawag-Sandec illustrates how an integrated sanitation and stormwater strategy helps improve urban waste water management through the example of the city of Tirana, Albania.
- In their article “What turns everyday people into water scientists in the Limpopo River Basin?" the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and partners explain how citizen science can be implemented effectively and sustainably.
- The Guidance Note for the Implementation of Source-to-Sea Management in Transboundary Basins published by the UNECE Water Convention is a practical roadmap for applying source-to-sea thinking in transboundary contexts.
