- The new RésEAU Brief no. 8 on water in urban areas focuses on ways to ensure services, managing risks and retributing to nature in the context of a rapidly growing urban population across the globe.
- The United Nations World Water Development Report 2025: Mountains and glaciers - Water towers provides an overview of the current state of play and recommends what needs to change in terms of meltwater management.
- The five maps on Climate Change, Water and Energy in the Middle East produced by Zoï Environment Network visualize in detail the interplay of the Water-Energy-Food-Environment Nexus in the Middle East.
The research on “Inclusive policy development from the ground up: Insights from the household water-energy-food nexus” reveals how daily practices, socio-economic realities, and gender roles shape sustainable behavior — and highlight the need for equity-focused, bottom-up policy design - The discussion paper Indicators, measures and methods for monitoring climate-resilient WASH elaborated by the World Health Organization summarizes key concepts used in the WASH and WASH-adjacent sectors when framing climate resilience for the purposes of monitoring and reflects on the implications of the above for development of new indicators for the WASH sector.
- The newly published Compendium of Solid Waste Management (SWM) in Humanitarian Contexts developed by the German WASH Network, eawag and IFRC is a comprehensive compilation of the most relevant and sector-reviewed SWM technologies, planning aspects and cross-cutting issues.
- The United Nations Security Council recently convened an Arria-formula meeting on “Protecting Water in Armed Conflict”, signaling a pivotal moment in recognizing water security as integral to global peace and security. The event recording can be found here.
- Water Aid's Learning Brief on Strengthening water resource management for climate resilience and water security in semi-arid areas of West Africa shares lessons learnt on implementing the Securing Water Resources Approach (SWRA) in their past 15 years of operation in the region.
- The latest issue of Water International Journal features an article exploring tangible points connecting climate governance with water issues at transboundary level: Where climate meets water in transboundary systems: breaking boundaries through law.
- The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has released a new report on “Mainstreaming gender in national drought plans, national action plans and national policies” complemented by a 60-minute online course addressing the gendered impacts of drought.
